Limerick City
Limerick is the main city of the Mid-west region of Ireland. It is situated on the mouth of the river Shannon. Limerick is a mainly Georgian city with much remaining of its medieval history. The 13th century St. John's Castle dominates the riverfront. The castle gives a great overview of the history of the city. Archaeological excavations on site show houses and fortifications which predate the castle.
